Hihi,
March 8 is International Women's Day. This isn’t some glitter graphic holiday or a group chat "you're amazing" moment. It's something deeper than that. It's a pause.
A time to celebrate what's been gained and to mourn what’s been lost.
To get there, I need to start here.
Has anyone else binged
Last week, part two of season four of Bridgerton was released. One thing we loved most about this season was how clearly it reinforced the meaning of womanhood. Strength. Choice. Friendship. Complexity. So many viewers noticed it too. The conversations online weren't just about romance. They were about identity, autonomy, and what it means to stand in your power as a woman.
This day exists because women before us refused to stay small. They built when they were told they couldn't. They spoke when it was inconvenient. They imagined bigger lives in rooms that weren't designed for them.
You get to dream loudly because someone else once had to whisper.
Not long ago, women couldn't open a bank account on their own. Voting was out of reach. Owning property freely was complicated or impossible. Ambition was labeled inappropriate. The everyday freedoms we move through now were once radical demands.
That's why pride matters. Not performative pride. Rooted pride. The kind that sits in your chest when you realize how far we've come.
Every year, more women become founders. Entire industries, including beauty, are led by women shaping conversations, products, and power structures. Even traditionally male-dominated spaces are shifting to consider us not as an afterthought, but as decision-makers. That shift happened because generations of women insisted on equality, opportunity, and respect.
This week, we shared a post highlighting some of the women who built before us. Researching their stories felt emotional in the best way. Gratitude does that. Perspective does that.
International Women's Day isn't about celebration for the sake of it. It's about remembrance. It's about honoring the bravery that made your ambition normal.
Hold that close this week.
Be proud of who you are. Be thankful for who came before you. Keep building like someone in the future is counting on you.

The things you do so freely for others are the exact things you're withholding from yourself.
