Wow, I am coming off a summer high. We just got back last week from the Create & Cultivate Festival- the Largest festival for Women in business, and let me tell you, Who runs the world? Girls, that’s who.

This month has been an unexpected series of events that has led me to not quite be in hermit mode, but definitely has caused me to be fully present to what lies ahead, for myself both personally and professionally. Business is not something I like to talk about online, and I am very thankful that thus far, I have been able to operate solely by referrals, but as the ever-changing economy dictates, maybe I should start by saying is business is so good, I am hiring! If you know anyone with some marketing and operations shops, who is curious and a problem solver, send them my way! Shoot me a DM in the chat, because yes it’s still me reading those messages.
On a personal note, I am happy to announce that I am becoming a New Yorker full-time! Ack! You may or may not know this, but between my weekly work travels, I was more of a bicoastal babe, popping between LA and NY every month. Let me tell you, traveling for work sounds sexy, but it’s not, and I am finally finished with that life chapter. It didn’t take much convincing for me to hop on a plane under the guise of cleaning out my parents’ garage, to enjoy some much overdue bestie and family time in the California beach town I call home, before lugging my entire library and shoe closet cross country back to my 400 sq foot apartment. Don't even start asking me where all this is going to so… just know that I am one determined lady, and that when there’s a will, there’s a way! I am so so soooo excited to have Daisy back in the City that never sleeps, and to share more about what those future thought noodles are cooking up!
But as is my nature, without further ado, let’s chat all group chat things and see what is happening in this big wide world.

In last week’s episode of the MHOB podcast, I sat down with Dr. Sophia Visanji, a Manhattan-based optometrist and the powerhouse founder of Aliana Rose Eyewear, a vintage-inspired eyewear line crafted from Italian acetate. Beyond her thriving medical career, Sophia has spent over a decade cultivating her creative side as the fashion blogger behind The Monocle Muse, proving that a traditional career and entrepreneurial creativity don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
In this episode:
How to know when your traditional career isn’t fully lighting you up + how to pivot without sacrificing financial security.
Building multiple income streams (content creation, product development, and beyond) while keeping your primary profession intact.
Why scheduling self-care like a CEO is the key to avoiding burnout before it hits + how to do it
Leveraging your professional expertise as a unique advantage in competitive markets.
If you’re craving a career that fulfills you and sustains you, this conversation is your blueprint. Sophia’s story shows that you don’t have to choose between stability and passion on your professional or entrepreneurial journey.

Company culture isn’t just a buzzword. It shapes how we connect, collaborate, and feel at work. When it’s strong, culture drives loyalty, trust, and growth. When it’s toxic, it quietly drains teams, fuels burnout, and drives people out the door. Middle managers hold the keys, but they too often lack the training to lead well. Add in generational shifts and hiring for comfort over challenge, and it’s no wonder many workplaces struggle.
