Hi love,

There is nothing like getting a jolt of loud amber alerts warning that a blizzard is about to hit your city, especially when you're a California girl. Guys it’s my first real winer, and it’s been HARD. My eyes teared up when I saw the snow begin to fall. I miss the sun. Yet when it really fell, I noticed a change, a shift. I walked out in childlike wonder. Daisy was obsessed, running like a little snow bunny with major zooms. We trudged to our favorite French food with my friends, realizing that wine and French onion soup and great yap sessions cured our seasonal depression.

There’s a certain magic, an illusion to the snow. It transforms the city. It brings us together. Seeing snow people lining the curbs, adults getting into snowball fights, kids tubing and missing school to play and hang out with their parents.

Time softens. Everything quiets. You get to pause and really think about who you are.

Yet there is so much beauty in the snow, just as there is so much hardship. It disrupts. It inconveniences. It demands that you adjust. Somehow, it also brings people together.

In the middle of difficult times, that feels important to remember. You create the perspective through which you experience your life. You decide whether this season becomes a beautiful snow globe or a block of ice.

That sounds like magic in itself.

In this conversation:

  • Brit started photography out of necessity, simply wanting enough financial stability to treat her kids without stress, and her personal brand grew naturally before she even realized that was what she was building.

  • Her real turning point came during COVID, when she pivoted from weddings to helping local businesses with branding photography and discovered how impactful it felt to support other entrepreneurs. That shift required treating her work like a real business, with systems, workflows, revenue goals, and a clear plan.

  • As you grow, your goals expand with you. What once felt impossible becomes normal when you enter bigger rooms. The real fear is not failure, but ego and the discomfort of looking inexperienced, which is often the only thing standing between you and the next level.
